FAQ: Pet Gallery

Why has my picture been deleted?
All submissions are moderated and pictures may be deleted for any number of reasons. We delete all pictures containing inappropriate content and all accounts are terminated in such circumstances. If your picture contained a website address or copyright text, or if your description contains a telephone number or any other promotional material, or if we believe the picture's copyright might not be owned by you we will delete your picture. Repeated attempts to upload such material may result in account termination. We may also delete pictures that we deem to be of very poor quality, or if you upload many similar images.

Several of my pictures are in the gallery - why do they not appear under "My Pictures"?
Our site has recently undergone a major upgrade and there are some inconsistencies between data created before and after this. If you uploaded your picture before the upgrade the picture will not be attributed to you. If you would like to be able to manage pictures previously submitted, please Contact Us, referencing the picture in question.

I don't know how to change the format/size of my picture to meet your requirements - can you help?
Unfortunately because of the volume of submissions we receive we can not assist you in modifying your images.

Why do some pictures have a name next to them and others a username?
Our site has recently undergone a major upgrade and there are some inconsistencies between data created before and after this. Pictures submitted before this date are not attributed to members (usernames).

How Do I Participate In The Weekly Contest?
Simply Upload Your Pet Pictures (you need to be Registered and Logged In) and your pictures are automatically entered into the contest every week for as long as you leave your pictures on our site - please do not resubmit your pictures each week. Employees of PetPeoplesPlace.com and their friends and family are not eligible to enter.

How often can I nominate my picture?
You can nominate your picture once every day, and you can nominate an unlimited number of pictures in any given week. Each nomination you make counts towards the number used to decide the winner of the weekly contest.

What Prize Does The Gallery Winner Receive?
From Thursday 6th August 2009 our weekly gallery content winner does not receive a prize. We hope to offer prizes for contest winners again in the near future.

How Can I Check My Pet's Contest Standing?
To see your pet's current number of nominations simply go to its gallery page, or View Highest Rated Pictures to see if your pet is close to winning! You can also view our Previous Winners

How Is The Weekly Contest Winner Decided?
The "Pet of the Week" is normally decided entirely by our readers - the pet with the most nominations on a Thursday will become our "Pet of the Week" - so make sure you invite your friends and family to vote for your pet! However, if the same photo or photos of the same pet win too often we will, at our sole discretion, select a different winner based on user nominations.

What Happens if Two Pictures Have Equal Numbers of Nominations?
When two or more pictures have an equal number of nominations at the time of selecting a winner, the picture with the most nominations all time will be selected. If there is still a tie, a winner will be selected at random from the tied pictures.

Will You Notify Me if I Win the Contest?
We send an automated email notification to all winners with instructions on how to claim your prize, if applicable. If you have not received such an email, and a prize is available to the winner, please Contact Us. If you do not respond to an email notification informing you that you have won within 30 days, and you do not contact us during this time, you will no longer be eligible to claim your prize, if applicable. Generally we will send your prize within 24 hours, but you should allow up to 28 days for receipt.
