Caddie is an 8-year old chocolate lab and has always been healthy. Recently I’ve notice a hole in the skin on her belly. At first I thought it was a tick but I can’t find anything that really resembles one. There is a small brown thing inside that looks like a piece of rope. It doesn’t appear to be painful for her unless I touch the thing that’s sticking out. Is this probably just an abscess or something more serious? I flushed the wound and it’s only seeping a small amount of pus. She does lick it from time to time. If I’m able to upload a picture I can do so.
Any suggestions? Everywhere is closed and this is the worst it’s looked. As far as behavior she doesn’t seem to be any different other than maybe a little extra tired.
