my 12 year old cat has several open sores on him
Your post is a statement, not a question, so I am assuming you wanted to know how to treat open sores on a cat.
Clean them out with peroxide. Use peroxide because your cat is likely to lick the sores so you must use something that is not toxic when ingested.
If they don’t start to clear up in the next couple of days, see the vet.
