Hi my hamster is 4 months old and had been acting all strange recently…he is eating so much that he is even starting to eat his own bedding. I don’t want to over feed him…after about half hour of exercise he is breathless and has to lie down. He is more curious around me. Up to a week a go I would say his was normal. I haven’t done anything different and really urgently need advice I don’t want this is to lead to death. His bedding is snug and cosy from pets at home…he is also itching and scratching quite a bit too. Thanks

Are you sure he’s eating it all?
Often they hide food in their cages or store it in their cheeks.
In any case, hamsters can eat like pigs and unlike dogs, will not eat themselves to death so your hamster is probably fine.
