Last yr I bought a hamster and a couple weeks after she had 5 babies to my surprise. When they were old enough I put the boys in a seperate cage and then had to put the girl babies in their own cage as well as mum hammie started being irritated with them. I gave 2 of the girls away to a friend and kept the rest. About 5 months later just out of the blue one of the boys died. We held him hopelessly as he died and we didn’t know why as all the hamsters are well taken care of and all seem completly fine. Then about a couple months later we found the other boy dead. Now about 3 months later tonight one of the girls slowly died as we held her. She was perfectly fine the night before running in her wheel and healthy acting. Just like the boys seemed. but tonight we found her in her cage back hunched up and her sides seemed sunken in and not moving. She slowly started gasping for air before she died. Just like the other one had died. Its so upsetting and we can’t understand why. Please can you help us figure out what’s going on with all the babies? I feel bad now for the friend who took 2 girls as I hope they don’t die on her. Please help~ thank you..
