There have been many flies or bugs flying around my guinea pig cage lately. I always clean my cage every week, and maybe it was the vinegar I use to clean the cage that attracts the flies. Well I got rid of the vinegar water just yesterday, and I even bathed my guinea pigs, but I still found flies in my room. I was wondering what might have caused these flies, what can i do to prevent them, and do they effect my guinea pigs' health in any way?

Have you gotten a new bag of timothy hay lately? While I haven't seen it myself I was just talking with a gentleman at the store the other day who told me he sometimes finds gnats and eggs in the bags of hay he gets. Just a suggestion...something to check out. Hope you find your source soon!

Thank you! I'll check my hay more often, but I am pretty sure it was the vinegar because the flies are slowly starting to go away.
