My hermie, Delcambre, died a few days ago. He last moved on Saturday, Feb. 19. He had successfully molted one claw and I saw that the other had started to molt, but then he just stopped moving. We had him for almost two years...he had one successful molt exactly 10 months ago. Besides being very sad, I am questioning, of course, what went wrong. When I pulled him from his shell today I thought his "tail" was very swollen. Then again, I have never seen his tail so maybe this was normal. He has a fishy smell, but why isn't he stiff if he is dead? Thanks :'(

Was it easy or hard to extract him from the shell?
