Found Giant Skink

We found a giant skink on a freeway the other day. We called the police and they didnt do anything, we also spent about 2 hours trying to catch him. Animal control will not pick up their phone, and If i can catch It I know someone who has a good home for him and can take him.

Any ideas on how to catch him??
