What breed is my rabbit? Can anyone help?

I very recently brought my rabbit (Carlisle) from a pet store, they have no idea what breed he is, or how old he is, he has a wonderful temperment and is content to sit on my lap, and he is also very curious when running around the garden.
   
I also would appreciate if someone could estimate his age.
   
He is adorable and very loving and I would love to be able to name his breed.
   

I forgot to add that his fur is extremely soft like velvet and when you rub it backwards it stays up until you brush it back down.
