Older cat drinking a lot.

What does it mean when an older cat starts noticably drinking and going to the bathroom more?

Could very well be diabetes, very common in cats. It can be easily treated with insulin shots (I did this once). Take the cat to the vet & have a full panel of blood tests run to determine the problem. Sudden changes in habits in cats is always a cause for concern.
