swelling in rear legs

hi, I have a 20+ year old cat that recently has had alot of swelling in both rear legs, the swelling is not hard to the touch and when pressed on the swelling goes away for a few moments, she doesnt seem to be in any pain and is walking fine, her legs are almost double the size. any ideas?
