I have recently lost my pet due to cancer. I am depressed beyond what I ever thought I would be. I had her for 12 years and she was fine in May this year but started to spiral downward fast. She died this morning and I am not handling it well. I was wondering if anyone can give some support outside my family.

We've all gone through this. I've cried a lot over cats who died, both suddenly & when expected. I know how you feel. There's little else we can say about this.
Don't get rid of any of his stuff. Keep it. You'll need it.
My best suggestion is to cry for a week or two -
Then go to the animal shelter & adopt the dog that tries to plow through the wire to get to you.
It's amazing how somebody else needing you will help.

Hi firstly i am very sorry for your loss . I lost my cat after having him for ten years . It was heartbreaking for both myself and my young children .
Our cat had been a loyal, affectionate and faithfull pet for many years .
I was reasured by the fact that he had a wonderfull and comfortable life in our home and he wanted for nothing .
I mourned for him for many months before i decided to adopt a little kitten from a local vet . Edward was found in a bin with his brother .
We now give Edward the same home comforts as we gave salem and salems passing made me realise that every day with your loved ones is very special .
So although he is gone he left us with that message . Perhaps when you are ready you could adopt a new pet and give it the love and security that you gave your deseased pet .
Best wishes
Linda
