My dog has a major ear wax problem in his left ear. It is very heavy and black. We try to keep it clean but with no luck. He is an indoor dog and hasn't been swimming in a couple of months. We notice it getting really built up in like 2 day. Any help?

Take him to the vet & have it checked, to make sure he doesn't have earmites. If he doesn't, he could have an infection. If he doesn't have bugs or germs, then he may be one of those dogs that just gets dirty ears. (My cats are this way.)

If it's just dirty ears, the vet can supply a product designed for cleaning pet ears. I'm using Oti-Clens; I'll just have to give my cats a treatment twice a week to keep the ear wax down.

You squirt it into the ear, massage the ear, then clean the excess liquid off with a cotton ball. It breaks down the wax enough so it's not a problem; it may be that the broken-down wax is re-metabolized into the animal's system. It's pleasant-smelling, doesn't irritate the eyes, & can be bought over the counter & online.
