Hello there I have a sick dog that is throwing up and it is worrying me

My dog is a miniature sheltie and she just turned 1 in Nov.2008

we had started feeding her Iams Smart Puppy 1-12 months Pro-heath , and then when she turned 1 years old we got her Mini chunks 1+ years.

But as of yesterday she has been throwing up this orange stuff, and shes doing it alot today she is gagging and then she sometimes comes up with it... my mom thinks its because of the food, maybe she cant handle the heavy food....idk, and we live in Canada and its been a little cold hear so maybe its cuz she got a cold, when i took her for a walk.. Im not sure all I know is it worrys me

if anyone has any advise or knows what is happening to her, please help, because this really worrys me

Thank you-Keegan

Hi there

My older jack russell Sam was throwing up for almost a week just before Xmas and I suspected it was from chicken that he had eaten that hadn't been cooked properly. In the end I took him to the vet and he was on antibiotics for a week. The vet advised me that if he had had further symptoms apart from vomiting he would have done further tests but thought it was just a stomach upset. I would take your dog to the vet just to make sure it is nothing more serious so that they can treat him accordingly. I hope your dog feels better soon.

try getting him food thats not to heavy for him,if that dosent work take your dog to the vet and since its cold in canada dont let him go outside that much but if you do you should buy him a sweeater so he wont get cold.just make sure you dont feed him human food or else he will get very sick.hope evrything turns out ok.
