My Yorkshire terrier cross jack russell has had a greeny discharge coming from his right eye for the past 3/4 dys. Has anyone got any idea's what it could be or how to treat it and with what?

I have been given some pred forte steroid eye drops that has been used on horses & I was wondering whether this would be safe to use on my dog?

I would say take him to the vet---and take this horse med to the vet. I personally wouldn't put anything into your dogs eye without the vet saying so. I have seen owners try to remedy things like this on their own and end up with a blind dog--recently as a matter of fact.

Better to be safe than sorry...you could always CALL the vet about the horse med. ....be prepared for them to tell you to bring him in though.

Good luck. :)

It could be something simple like a food allergy so I would consult your vet prioir to using any medication.
