Dog Lays Down Too Hard on Tile Floor

I have a black lab who seldom leaves my side when I'm home which means he follows me everywhere. Everywhere.... I have a tiled bathroom floor and when I go in to, you know, he always lays down at my feet. He is however not at all graceful or cautious when he does so and I always hear the sounds of bones at his joints impacting the tile floor. I know if I laid down on tile and whacked my elbow into it as hard as it sounds like he does, it would most likely hurt. My question is, is there some long-term cumulative damage I need to worry about? Bone bruising, chips, arthritis, bursitis, swelling, inflammation, etc? I worry about the big guy and he is truly my best buddy and I want to be sure he lives as long and healthy a life as he can. Thanks - Mike.
