Ask the vet, but usually, if a pin is installed in a leg, whether in a person or a dog, it's a permanent addition to the bone that stays there, because the bone needs help to stay together & support weight. It's done in cases of very severe damage to the bone.
Do you have the MinPin's previous vet records? Get them if you can & give them to the vet. He'll need to know about the operation.

i spole to the vet that did his surgery but i do not like that vet, they are one of those very high priced, anything for money places. i want to take him to our vet to find out for sure. of course, the first vet said that it has to come out.
