I have a three yr old cocker and we do agility and obedience we now have to go off leash. lady and i are in a 4h dog club and an akc club. i also do jr.showmanship. i need tips on how to keep ur dog listening and in the ring. You see when we did obedience on leash she didn't do very good because she gets hyper around new people. now we are in novice and have to go off leash. We only got one blue in 2 yrs. in obedinece but we have to move up not an option. We need helpn on keeping her attention, calming her down around new people, listening, and staying in the ring without going to see mommie. In agility she runs off to do what obstacles she wants to do, goes and sees mommie or the judge. How do i keep her from doing that. I keep calling her and calling her most the time she listens but sometimes she does not. Please help

It takes a LOT of work to achieve the goals you have set for your dog. Every day practice. Many dogs are just not interested in doing it. What made you select a cocker? Where did you get her?
