I am wanting to get my 7 month old cross into agility (or any sport) but dont know how to do it. He plays with me and my little sister up at the park and loves to climb and jump, as soon as he gets of the lead he runs to the play area, goes up the ladder and down the slide then jumps over the little wall to come back to me. I am only 16 and go to college full time so I dont have much money so I am looking for a way to practice at home until I can save up for the real lessons plus I think Cookie is still young to do it for real. Any advice would be great.

Just saw in another post that you are in the UK - contact this group, they will be your best resource probably: http://www.agilityclub.co.uk

Agility is FANTASTIC - have been doing it for years. First since you have a cross and if you want to compete, you will have to go UKC, NADAC or USDAA (UKC Agility is GREAT for beginners and I love it). http://www.ukcdogs.com http://www.nadac.com http://www.usdaa.com I have done AKC, UKC, NADAC and USDAA in the past and my favorite is UKC. You will also want to investigate Agility clubs out there - where are you located? This is the best way to get going and learn how to SAFELY train. Now, http://www.dogwise.com and get your hands on the Agility book by Jean Simmons-Moake (I think it is Agility, the fun sport for all dogs - I loaned my copy to my parents and have not gotten it back yet!) Then hit http://www.AffrodableAgility.com my favorite resource for equipment I cannot easily make at home.
