I am baking my own dog treats for our dog and for our friends. I would like to make a treat contianing cod liver oil...about 1 tablespoon per batch. Each batch makes approx. 60 treats. Will this amount of fish oil be harmful? Any negative side effects I should be aware of? Any breeds that should not ingest cod liver oil?

Thanks so much for your time and advice.

Use olive oil or fish oil instead. It'll be easily metabolized & be good for his skin & fur. Cod Liver oil tends to go straight thru the system. It's really for bowel problems.

THanks for the advice re: cod liver oil vs. fish oil. I guess I was thinking fish oil and cod liver oil to be the same. I appreciate the new knowledge!
