i cant get my puppy to eat

Hi we have a new lab mix puppy. she is 12 weeks old, and been with nus for 3 days. she is somewhat shy and easily fightened m but seems to have adjusted well to the family. my problem is that I cant get her to eat. I have tried everything, from the food she was eating to canned food to cooking rice and seiing if she would eat that she will only eat a couple bite a day. she is drinking water, ( not sure how much she should drink). To me she looks skinny, but ive never had this kind of puppy befre so dont know if that is normal. any sugesstions are welcome. they had just given her her first shots when we got her and I dewormed her when we got home 3 days ago.

Be Careful! The 1st symptom of a disease called parvo is lack of appetite! Even though baby has had the 1st set of vaccinations, she not immune to these diseases until 2 weeks after the last set in the series. Parvo a disease of the intestinal lining that begins with lack of appetite then vomiting, runny and or bloody stool, lethargy. There is no cure for parvo so supportive care and hospitalization is imperative to survival. Go to the vet! The sooner it is diagnosed the better chance of survival. Parvo is diagnosed easily through a snap test that you Veterinarian will carry and you will know in 10 minutes.

thanks for the reply. she does indeed have parvo and is being treated for it now. hopefully she will pull though ok. we are doing all we can to give her the best chance.
