Hello , please help me............I have a 2/1 yr old J/Russell who constantly bites himself at the back of his tail..............He has been to 2 different vets who have said there is absolutely nothing wrong with him , it is a habit he has picked up.............He has had a lampshade on for a month to let the hair grow back...............I took it off today when we went out walking..........We have been home 30 minutes and I was distracted by the phone before I put his lampshade back on.........In the 5 minutes I was on the phone , he has done it again............bitten a large patch of hair off right down to the skin...............I am at my wits end..........he can't spend the rest of his life with a lampshade on...to add to the misery , I live on disability pension and cannot even think of a dog behaviourist...................Please help me...........Many many thanks

What are you feeding him? I know your selection over there isn't the greatest but that is most likely the problem. I take it he has no fleas? You are positive about that? When a dog is allergic it only takes one flea bite to set him off. However since this is so consistant it would seem to be caused by something that is also consistant.
