A stray cat has been hanging around our house lately. My roommate and I are suckers for animals so we have been feeding it some of our dogs food (we don't have any cat food). I think that she might be pregnant but I am not sure. She is very skinny and bony except for her belly and her nipples are pretty large. I was wondering if there is any easy way to tell if she is pregnant for sure. If she is pregnant is there something that we should feed her because I am afraid that she is too malnurished right now to have healthy kittens. I was also wondering what we could do to make a place for her to have her kittens....we would bring her inside but we have two dogs and we don't think that they would get along so well.

I would feed her a good cat food and wait and see if she has any kittens.....fix her a place somewhere she would be safe from the dogs so she wont be stressed.....If you can't take her to the vet for him to tell ya for sure then it will be a wait and see thing...if she's really malnourished she might have been pregnant and they've died....your best bet would be to take her to the vet.......Suebee

Thanks...I think that we might end up taking her to the vet. The only problem is that we can't bring her inside and we aren't even sure if she will keep hanging around our house...our dogs are very nice and they don't have a problem with her but she is very scared of them....I would try to get her used to them but I don't think that she is up to it right now. Do you think we should make her a box or little house that she might have her kittens in? I am also afraid that she might try to have her kittens in the drainage culvert below our house because she sleeps there a lot and we wouldn't be able to get them out of there....it floods really bad when it rains too. Hmmm....basically I would feel better if we could keep her inside but I really don't know what to do...
