Hello! Searching for some advice here, any information would be appreciated vastly!

In June 2010 I got a kitten, Issie, for my birthday (She was 8 weeks old). In Nov/Dec 2011 my mother lived with her sister for roughly two months and moved with our cats. Tragically our older male cat Benson passed away in this time. Fortunatly for Issie my aunty also had a cat, Bowie. (My aunty aslo has a dog, who Issie [naturally] didn't agree with at first but now 8 months later is perfectly content with).

When my mother moved out of my aunts house she had no choice but to leave Issie in her care. Another trajedy hit when my auntys cat Bowie died leaving Issie a lone cat for the first time in her life. A month or so later my aunty adopted a new cat and Issie now has Max.

Due to current situations my mother is now able to have Issie move back in with her. My question is 'Will Issie be okay?'

Factors to consider:

1. Issie has never lived for long without a cat companion and with my mother she will be an only cat. (Maybe not for long).

2. Issie lived in a house of four people orginally, then at my aunts with a lot more people and a dog. When she moves with my mother it will be just them two (Im currently at university). She's a sociable cat, but still extremely content with her own company.

I'm worried moving her back to my family will upset her but to me she seems very capable of change so far. Any advice, tips, own experiences?

Issie will be fine. Just move her.

She may take a day or two to come out of hiding and explore her new home but curiousity will get the better of her.

Once you move her, let her do as she pleases and check out her new home on her own terms. Don't try to force it. If she spends 2 days hiding in a closet or under a bed, so be it.

Just be sure to put her food, water and litter box where she can easily find them and she'll do the rest herself.
