pooping cat why ??

hi ive had my cat for about 5 yrs now but as she was a stray im not sure of her age although she was very young when we found her with her being a stray she was still quiet ferrel although she has calmed down alot we still cant pick her up and we have no hope of getting her into a cat box to take her to the vets recently she has started pooing on my new bedding a white sheepskin rug and a spare duvet even though she would normally go outside to do thisive just started to use a cat litter tray to see if that helps but is there any reason why she is doing this

She could possibly be sick. Probably need to take her to the vet somehow.

Hi carol, i am not sure how much help i can offer but i am going through a similiar problem with my cat . she is elevan years old and last winter when it go cold she urinated and pooed in the kids bedroom several times . simply because it was cold outside and she didnt want to venture outside .
   
recently she did it again and the weather is getting a little cooler. she has a cat flap so she can go out at anytime.
   
i keep her locked out of the bedrooms , i lock her out for a short while after she eats , its working so far ,
   
i suggest you keep her out of some areas of the house and make sure to put her outside a couple of times a day. make sure that there is nothing stopping your cat wanting to go outside ,eg another cat.
