I got new a cat about a month ago from a friend who had eight other cats. She is seven years old and she has been de-clawed and she doesn't see well. In her old home she had a cat door that she went in and out of as she pleased, but I am afraid to let her do that here, being a new place and and having no claws. But she is driving me crazy she want out really bad meows at the door all evening. Anybody have any advice on what to do?

I'm am going to get a collar with her name and address on it, but I am wondering how she will take to it not having worn a collar before. Dose anybody have any ideas how I should go about putting it on?

Get a lightweight collar & plastic or aluminum tag; she'll adjust to it after a few days of fussing with it.

Since she's both declawed & partially blind, she shouldn't be outside without protection. Buy or build her an outside cat run/cage. (Building something like this isn't hard, & it's cheaper than buying one.)

You can put a cat door into one of your windows, she can go in & out that way into her run. Or you can put a cat flap in a door or in the wall that leads directly into her run. The solutions depend on what your house looks like & how you can connect it to your house.

Search "cat plans cage OR run OR enclosure" for examples & plans online for use or purchase.

Thanks, I was thinking an enclosure was the best bet. I wish I could afford to enclose the whole backyard. As I type this, My cat is pacing up stairs wanting out, and she is Siamese, so she can really meow!
