Traveling with your pets

On the subject of traveling with your pets:
   
Has anyone used the "petswelcome" website (link)?
   
It seems to have everything: hotels, motels, chains, mom-and-pop motels, B&Bs, cabins & cottages, ski resorts, campgrounds, beaches, vacation rentals, and a Search-by-route function.
   
So many sites seem to only list chain hotels (which are not particularly welcome, as they seem to always give you the smoking rooms).
   
And can anyone recommend any of the other similar sites? - petfriendlytravel, bringyourpet? Any others?
