I have a six-month old male kitten. I got him about a month ago from the Humane Society. He has a limp on his back right leg. Whether he had this condition already or developed it early in my ownership of him is unknown. The limp is the only visible sign of pain. He still runs around and jumps. When I press on the leg, back, and hip area, he doesn's seem to mind. He has not been declawed. I checked his paws but there are no burrs or anything. It seems like the limp is becoming more pronounced, but I could just be noticing it more. Any thoughts?

Hello :)

I was thinking, it might be an abnormality in the bone and its just becoming more and more pronounced as your kitten is growing. Sort of like a birth defect that has somehow left the hip or a joint oddly misshapen or deformed causing him to walk oddly.

Im assuming since you adopted him he already had all of his shots and such but maybe call your vet and explain the situation, i bet a simple xray of the area will offer a lot of insight to the problem. Good luck with your new kitty :)

He could actually have a broken or fractured bone. The vet should see him, & he probably needs an x-ray.
