I have a sweet little 4 year old male himalayan named Little Man. In the past 2 months he developed a very serious bladder infection. He is finally beginning to show signs of really recovering and here is my problem. Before he got sick he ws the cleanest kitty I had ever had. He even got in the pan to make sure his sister has covered her messes. Now, he pees only outside the pan and usually he has to be up on something like a bed or couch. I am at my wits end. My husband and I have a shaker furniture business with a showroom in our home and he is finding his way onto the beds at night and peeing!! I'm desperate for help. I might mention that he is also extremely timid, is afraid of his own shadow and appears to take any harsh words deep to his little heart. I don't want him to withdraw further by scaring him. It's really only me that he trusts. Thanks for any help. Carole

He probably associates urinating in the pan with the pain he felt during the time of his bladder infection. For now I would confine him with his litter box in a seperate room until he gets used to using it again. It may be beneficial to get a different type of litter pan and litter in attempt to get him to try and use the box again. Just a suggestion. Best of luck.
