Poops all over house!

My only cat is 13 years old and in perfect health. He is the only pet in our household. About 3 months ago I found out that my husband and I are pregnant. Because pregnant women should not be around cat litter I stopped changing and scooping litter and my husband took over. I've always used the same type of scoopable litter and my husband scoops out the soiled clumps every day. Almost at the same time that I found out I was pregnant and my husband started to deal with the litterbox, my cat completely stopped pooping in the litterbox and now poops all over the house. On the carpet, by the front door, pretty much in every room. Every single time. It is so frustrating and with the baby coming, I don't know what to do. Does anyone think it may have something to do with my being pregant? Maybe he can sense it and is jealous? Or maybe he doesn't like that a my husband (who never changed the litter before) is now changing it? Please help! I'm at the end of my rope and I really don't want to have to give my cat away- had him since he was born. But if it continues, I would have no choice because the baby would be crawling around the house and may get into the cat's feces.
