cat peeing on everything

Our female cat is 5 years old and has always been litterbox trained. She has been spayed since she was 1 years old. All of a sudden she is peeing on everything. If a jacket is left out or thrown on the floor it ends up with cat pee on it. She pees on bean bag chairs, dirty laundry, and even on a pocketbook. She has even pooped (always by the front door). Why is this happening and what can we do about it if anything?

anything new going on in the household? she could have a uti. Better go to the vets for a check up to see if it is a health issue or behavior. good luck

Nothing new - we havent changed the litter, or the brand of cat food. No new furniture or anything. I did make an appointment at the vet to rule out any health problems - keep you informed. Thanks!
