Our 5 baby lovebirds hatched last month and are progressing well apart from they all have bald patches on their backs. All other feathers are growing well. I clean their nesting box daily and have recently started spraying them with very watered down Dettox. Could this be from their constant clambering all over each other or because of the intense heat and humidity here in Cyprus? The last batch of chicks did not have this problem and are thriving outside in an aviary. We would like to put the new chicks into the aviary once they are big enough but are worried incase this is catching. Both parents are healthy and all have a varied diet with fresh veg, hard boiled egg etc to supplement their varied seed diet. Please help

Best Regards

I dont know what you are spraying on the chicks, but I would advise against it. The parents are probably plucking the babies. So you really have to watch them, sometimes they will hurt the babies. If you have hatched lovebirds before you are probably very knowledgeable. But I would still not spray anything on the chicks

Just to let you know that all 11 lovebirds are now outside in the aviary and they are all looking very healthy! Allelujah!
