I have a love bird whose male bird died few weeks back, and after that just 3 days back i found an egg in the cage,i have placed it in a small tray with some cloth an striped papers thinking the bird might incubate it,but I don't see the love bird incubating it at all.I had covered the cage but still it doesn't,how do i incubate it without an incubator and how long would i have to wait to see it hatch?? please help me with this soon,i really want to try hatching it..how do i check if its a good egg or not? And why do you think the mother bird isn't incubating the egg? please let me know what to do sooon..

Thanks

the egg could be infertile, and honestly you wouldn't want it to be..... there are far far too many homeless birds that get abused and they need homes. If she's not interested, after you go past the hatching time throw it away.
