I got my Siberian for my 19th birthday. She was definitely the best present ever. Like the puppy in the other comment, she loved to take refuge under the coffee table, but she grew out of that when she got more comfortable with her new surroundings. She’s pretty territorial at first when she meets new people, but once she gets to know you, it’s awesome!! She’s extremely energetic, and has helped to whip me into shape!! This breed is awesome as long as you have a lot of time to dedicate to your new puppy!

My Sibe is so wonderful… intelligent, energetic. I adopted her from an all-breed rescue shelter in Schomberg at 6 months of age. She had been abused by her previous owner, and was very distrusting, especially towards men. She’s doing great now, and in fact, one of her favorite people is my father! Whenever we walk her we get compliments about how beautiful she is, and have been asked many times whether we would like to breed her…too bad…she’s been spayed.

I’m going to disagree that the husky is not good with children. We are on our third shelter/rescue husky and getting along with children is what makes all their other habits tolerable. Such as needing a pack (other dogs or not being left alone) running away, prey drive and FUR.

We have a 1 year old Siberian Husky and he is the best dog we’ve ever had. He is very affectionate and playful with other dogs and with children. I was actually surprised to see that this web site has Huskys as one of the breeds less suitable for kids. I have read several books on this breed and they all say that Husky is a good breed for kids. The only draw back is their size, it can be intimidating for some kids, but they usually know how to treat small people. From what I’ve experienced, they are not aggressive towards kids at all.

Although, Huskies are considered a dangerous breed of dog, there are exceptions. I am having trouble getting house insurance because of my dog Ranger. He is a wonder, loving, and well tempered dog

My Sabrina is 5 years old and she is the best present i got for my wife. She gets so excited when she sees either me or my wife, buts she loves my children even more Even in the heat of Las Vegas(110+) she loves to go on walks, and go and see the other children at the school down the block.

I disagree on you stating that huskies are poor with children. I have two kids they are 3 and 1 and abby is so loving towards them and very protective so it goes not all huskies are "poor" with kids.

I own two Huskies, 3 & 7 years old. This pair represent the sixth& seventh of this breed I have owned, after owning many other breeds. I would never change. These dogs are intelligent, great with children, playful, and almost human in some of their behavior patterns. Before inviting a Husky into your life, remember, they are a lot of work needing lots of exercise and brushing.

I rescued a huskey in October of last year from a dog shelter in Cypru. she was very thin and almost bald when we first got her she is approx 18 months old now, and is the most beautiful animal in the world, she is affectionate and loves my great nephew (age 6) She loves to swim, play football, and even has her own favourite doggy friends. she also gets lots of compliments from other dog owners. Only criticism is that once she is off the lead playing with the other dogs she will only come back when she is ready! sound familiar to anyone?
