The mini rex rabbits are so sweet! Actually, I’ve only had one, but he was my sweet little baby. He died two days ago at the age of 9 years and I’m grief-stricken. He was a red mini rex named Hoppy Critter. I couldn’t ask for a sweeter friend. Mini rexes are so easy to take care of and I would recommend them to anyone. muppetthepuppet@juno.com

Anyone considering getting a rabbit should get a Mini Rex. They are sooosoft, playful…I could go on forever. I currently have one myself, a 1 year old female.

One thing you have to worry about with Rexes and Mini Rexes are their thin footpads. Make sure you have some type of carpet or wood in your pet’s house so they don’t develop sore hocks. I hope that the Otter Mini Rex is recognized soon! 🙂

Mini Rex’s are very well tempered breed. Their coats must be taken care ofto remain it top condition. They are very soft with a coat that feels likevelvet hence the name "Original Velveteen Rabbit." I would recommendthis breed to any one looking for a good rabbit. I personally have 3 and have noproblems with any of them.

If you are a rabbit breeder or someone who shows Mini Rex you might not want to handle your rabbit a lot before your show. If you do and they start to mort or sled then they will not show well.

Mini Rex are really affectionate and have great personalities! They have a lot of energy and are fun to watch run around the house. They don’t require much grooming so that is a plus. I can’t imagine not having my mini rex rabbit!

They are a lively breed and enjoy human company as well as that they are a very clever breed as they pick up things very quickly. My black mini rex Blaze has learnt that when I say up he knowa to go on his hind legs!

Our mini-rex Bolt has exceeded our expectations of what owning a rabbit would be. She has a ton of personality, like having an eternal kitten. One second she will hop up into your lap for some TLC and then off she goes to jump and twist in the air. When she’s done playing she finds the closest air vent and sprawls out for a nap. Too much fun!

Charlie is a 9 month old Black otter mini-rex and he exceeds everything! I’ve taught him 5 simple voice commands, he uses the litter box and refuses to go outside his cage, his favourite pass time is sitting on my bed licking my toes and he enjoys following my dog around like a little baby!

My husband and I want to get a rabbit and recently fell in love with a mini rex that we put on hold. We were told that the rex is hypoallergenic, but after some research I am having doubts about that fact. i am only concerned because my sister is very allergic to rabbits, and comes over a lot. I dont want her to stop coming around!! Does anyone who is or lives with someone who is allergic and owns a mini rex?
