What Age Should Rabbits Be Weaned?

I am going to buy a rabbit soon. The one I have been given is 2 weeks old. How much longer shall I keep it with the mother before I bring her home?

The eyes and ears open by the end of the second week, usually around the tenth day. During the third week the young will begin to leave the nest and to take their first solid food. The doe usually suckles her young for around 6 weeks, and sometimes until about 8 weeks after birth. So if you are buying from a more responsible breeder, your rabbit will probably be ready to come to your home about 8 to 10 weeks after birth, so you will have to be patient!
